4-H & Youth – Ward County, TX

“4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.”

Ward County 4-H is part of Texas 4-H, which is part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M System. Founded in 1908, 4-H is the largest youth development program in Texas, reaching more than 550,000 youth each year.

The 4-H Motto is “To Make the Best Better”

The 4-H Slogan is “Learn by Doing”

Major 4-H & Youth Programming in Ward County includes:

  • 4-H Family & Community Health projects including Food & Nutrition, Food Challenge, and Fashion & Interior Design
  • 4-H Livestock projects such as Swine, Sheep, Goats, Steers,
  • 4-H Small Animal projects such as Broilers & Rabbits
  • Shooting Sports disciplines – Archery, Air Rifle, Rifle, Pistol
  • Leadership & Citizenship development through 4 community clubs
  • Curriculum Enrichment activities such as H20 Water Fair for 4th graders, Welcome to the Real World Financial Simulation for high school seniors, and the Beautiful Clinic for Preteen Girls
