How does the program work? Program participants weigh-in weekly, beginning the week of Thanksgiving through New Year’s to monitor their weight. Each week, participants will weigh in on their own and track and report their results. In this project you can learn to design, construct and be a smart consumer when purchasing clothing and household items. Have fun creating environmentally friendly projects while exploring careers in the fashion and interior design industries. You can work on your own or with a group.
If you want to be a star in the kitchen, try the food & nutrition project! You’ll learn kitchen and cooking safety, how to prepare nutritious meals and snacks, and meal ideas to reduce your risk of disease. Learning experiences focus on nutrition, food purchasing, food preparation, food safety, and related careers. Wednesday, March 31, youth who competed last fall at the county food show will have the opportunity to compete at the district 6 food show held here in Monahans.

This project can be tailored as self-directed study or in a classroom with science rotations. This project lets you dream, explore, and experiment in various areas for possibilities in careers and education. We will be finishing our Mars Mission this month and gearing for some fun learning about our natural resources.
